This qualification is ideal for:

- Individuals with little to no prior knowledge of English or those who want to strengthen their existing English skills.

There are no specific entry requirements for this ELICOS course. It is open to all international students who can provide the following:
- The student must be 18 years or older at the start of the course.
- The student must have completed Australian Year 12 (or equivalent).
- For students starting at in-between levels, an AIA Placement Test may be required.
Before enrolling, students can take an assessment to determine their appropriate level, which helps us identify any special needs.
Students taking the full General English ELICOS course (all 6 levels) do not need prior English knowledge. However, those with previous experience can submit results from exams like IELTS (or equivalent) to show their skills, which may also support academic purposes.
- Formative tests, homework, and class activities (e.g., speaking) will be assessed.
- Assessments track progress and identify areas needing extra support.
- All assessments are supportive and unlike traditional school exams.
